No single institution can fund the future alone. That was the message from Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, when he called on NGOs, private organizations, and alumni associations to partner with the government in transforming education across the state—including Ilesa.
Public education in Osun faces deep-rooted challenges: overcrowded classrooms, underfunded schools, and limited teacher resources. But partnerships are proving to be a game changer. Alumni bodies like the Ilesa Grammar School Old Students Association have already contributed over ₦1 billion in infrastructure projects—showing what’s possible when communities unite for education.
NGOs and scholarship foundations like the Dr. Adegoke Fajemisin Scholarship Fund (DAFSF) play a vital role in this collaboration. By providing scholarships, teacher awards, and school resources, DAFSF bridges the funding gap and ensures that quality education reaches every corner of Ijesaland.
Governor Adeleke has hinted at a new State Alumni Partnership Board to coordinate these efforts—an opportunity for foundations like DAFSF to align with government goals while maintaining independence and transparency.
“We can no longer wait for government funding alone,” said a DAFSF spokesperson. “Partnerships create momentum, and momentum builds futures.”
In Osun, the story of education is shifting—from dependence to collaboration, from scarcity to shared strength.
